I was walking along here on wednesday and I couldn’t help but grin, turn to Rob and say ‘we have the best job in the world’.
He agreed. We totally do.
Did a bit of an east-west traverse across the north coast of Sutherland while I was up in Scotland this week, sampling rocks.
Visited by old mapping haunt of Loch Eriboll with some of the world-experts on Moine tectonics, and I’m happy to say they were saying all the things I put in my map!
Beautiful place, though. Well worth a visit and the long drive from Durness.
Camping in Drumnadrochit earlier on in the week was great. More photos to follow, but here’s what most of the evenings consisted of. Talking about rocks with other geologists and drinking some fantastic Scottish Ales.
